5 (Not Awkward) Tips and Tricks to Picking your Engagement Ring with your Partner
It’s time- and it’s finally happening. You’ve had the late nights and long talks, and now you’re ready to get engaged. Congratulations! Now comes the fun part: the search for THE ring of your dreams. It’s 2022 and now more than ever women (and men!) want a say in their engagement ring. After all, YOU are the one who will be wearing it every day for years to come and you deserve exactly what you want. Here are a few ways to bring this up with your partner, while still keeping the proposal surprising and fun, even when you have an idea of what the ring will look like!
1. Honesty is the Best Policy!
A lot of Partners have a very traditional idea of what a proposal should look like: a Round diamond solitaire and a complete surprise! If this is what you want, that's absolutely perfect for you! If not, the best way to counteract this is to simply tell them you have some fun ideas and you want to be involved. 2. It’s FUN!
Coming to our showroom and trying on all these beautiful pieces is a very special moment and if you are not a part of the ring selection process, you may never get this opportunity again. Plenty of people think about and anticipate this exact situation years in advance! Make a day date out of coming to the showroom together, drinking a little champagne, and going home giddy about this next step.
3. Want to leave the final decision up to your partner? We’ve got you covered.
A great way to let your partner have the final say in your ring while still communicating what you want is to narrow it down to 2-3 rings you absolutely LOVE. Make sure you would be thrilled with any of your top few rings and let them choose! You will still be surprised when they propose, and your partner will be so happy they chose a ring you love (less stress for them)!
4. Phone a Friend
Have some strong opinions but don’t want to know anything about your impending proposal? Easy. Pick a friend you trust or a parent and tell them everything about which ring is right for you (INCLUDING YOUR RING SIZE)! Show pictures, even bring them in with you for an appointment so they absolutely know what vibe you want for your ring. Send that person over to your partner and trust that they understand your vision!
