We here at Andria Barboné just adore yellow gold. We love the shades of gold that antique jewelry comes in and we love how the gold wears and patinas over time to create a perfectly lived in piece. Many of our in-house designs and diamond engagement rings are made in our beautiful signature shade of yellow gold.
Did you know, though, that there are thousands of shades of yellow gold? This is why antique yellow gold may appeal to you while modern yellow gold does not! Essentially, pure gold is 24 karats. So, 18kt yellow gold means that it is 18 parts gold and 6 parts something else. Those 6 parts can be made of many different metals and alloys which results in many different possibilities for 18kt gold ranging from very yellow or greenish to a soft neutral to rose gold to white gold!
We found a gold that more closely mimics the beautiful shades of antique gold and have made all of our yellow gold engagement rings out of that.
